  • Good Shows - Bad App

    By Casandra Lynne
if i go to my “continue watching” there is not an option to click “episodes”. if i fall asleep watching a show there is no easy way to go back and find the episode i was on. I have to go search it in the search bar just to get a list of the episodes. it’s so ridiculously difficult to navigate and there is absolutely no ease of use. Also, when I am fast forwarding a show, it only lets me skip a few minutes at a time before forcing the scroll to stop and I have to let it go and start again. That’s super annoying and frustrating. Especially when, again, it already took several minutes to go back and find the episode that I was on. the shows are good. the app is not. The only reason it even gets two stars is that the shows are good. The app itself deserves 0 stars. Just absolutely awful.
  • App not able to steam series episodes

    By rmcgu67812
Tried to watch this weeks episodes of Real Time and Last Week Tonight and it will not stream. I get kicked out of the app. Restarted the Apple TV the same results. Deleted the app and re-downloaded still will not stream. The same results on my Firestick. Movies will stream. Seems to be an issues with series.

  • Gotten Buggier

    By jkdman123
Not a bad streaming app, but definitely not up to the standards of a company like HBO. If you really wanna compete with Netflix and Amazon, then you have a lot of work to do. 1st thing is to fix the crashing bug when downloading content. 2nd thing is to BRING BACK FULL SCREEN VIEWING IN IPHONES!!! This is more perplexing because it used to be supported and several months ago they removed it. 3rd thing to do is to have links to other episodes of a show on an individual episode’s page. This is standard on other platforms and saves lots of time if you want to quickly go back and review an older episode or perhaps, when the app mistakenly thinks your on one episode when you’re really on another. The way it’s set up now, I have to GO TO THE SESRCH FUNCTION TO FIND THE PROGRAM’S PAGE then find the desired episode there. Waste of time.
  • Very Glitchy

    By Dk_boy21
The app itself is full of glitches. When trying to download videos it shuts down randomly and won’t download. Some features for functionality while watching can be improved as well. Such as continuing to play the video when you leave the app without having to manually press play. Also fast forward and rewind could be easier. Love the catalog but app can certainly use improvement.
  • Love shows, App doesn’t reliably work

    By nickname321321321
This is the second week in a row I’ve tried to watch Bill Mahr on my Apple Tv App but when I click on an episode or clip, nothing happens. App and OS are up to date. What’s going on?
  • Super bug problems and glitches

    By plzFixtheglitch
Some movies just wont play..and says its a problem wiht your internet...sometimes it glitches and airplay doesn’t work on the app. And i dont like the fact that airplay turns on automatically as soon as you click the app. It mess with other thing you may have already playing on the Tv because airplay turns on by itself. Please fix these bugs and the issues with movies not working‼️‼️‼️
  • Don’t subscribe if you own a Samsung TV

    By evieid
If you watch a movie on a Samsung TV there will be a white line on the right side of the TV screen. It’s very distracting and annoying. It’s a known bug that only happens with the HBO app. After contacting HBO, they state they are “working on it.” The bug has been there for a month with no ETA for a fix and no updates from HBO. HBO has a lot of content, but the UX of their app has always been terrible. The UX for HBO GO was great, HBO Max has always sucked. With this update it’s even worse. Now the app is unusable on the TV for me because the white line is so distracting. The UX is terrible no matter the device. Save your money and rent/buy the content on a platform that works.
  • Seriously "creaky" app

    By Halkigirl
The old HBO app worked like a racehorse compared to this and never had a problem. When I first moved to it (Dec 2020) didn’t notice too many glitches and streamed a movie without any apparent problems. I’m using it from an iPad Pro and mirroring to my Apple TV...and use other apps like Showtime Anytime the same way and have no issues with those apps, so can’t really think it’s a device issue. I get this through my cable service (yes, old school I know, but have my reasons) and have high speed connection for work, and am really glad I’m not paying extra for this. Since that first movie, other than the actual titles available, there’s not much to say to recommend the app. Here are some of the issues that are now happening: 1. No audio or delayed audio when I tied streaming something. Checked versions of app and iPad, both current. So uninstalled and started over. That sort of fixed it. 2. The audio is still sometimes slow to start when I start a show. Reinstalling has not seemed to fix this. 3. A couple of times the audio description kicked on without me doing anything apparent to turn this on. If I want the TV to tell me when someone is walking across the room, I will be happy to toggle this on myself when that feature is available. But it’s really annoying to have turn on by itself. 4. There is way too much lag time between "hitting the start button" and the video stream starting. Glad the push button start in my car isn’t this slow or I’d have to leave earlier to get to places on time. 5. Buffers for no apparent reason and the selection never starts playing. It’s really a pain in the neck to use this app. I’m irritated that I have to talk myself into using it and then get more irritated when it works like an old mule and I wind up turning it off to go watch something else. And when The CW app works so much better than HBO Max, there really is a problem. C'mon HBO you have great content and it deserves a way better app than this. The problems are too common and haven’t been fixed despite months of people all telling you about them. Time to bring your A game...or just give us back the old HBO app because it actually worked.
  • If it recent got an update, it did more harm than good.

I’ve been using HBO on my FireStick for months and about two days ago it has failed to startup all together. I’ve cleared the software cache a few times, restarted the FireStick a few times, Uninstalled and reinstalled the app twice, and it still fails to boot up. This coupled with the general lag you experience when you use it on a daily basis.
